He started playing guitar and writing at age 7. influenced by a heavy dose of Rock N Roll, Honky Tonk , Pre War Blues ,Garage ,  Punk Rock, Folk music & pre-war gospel as well as rebel poets and American writers .

Michael Blended all those styles to create what later was to be marketed Americana & Alt Country .-His Influential bands The Earwigs & Mystery Train (EMI)as well as a string of acclaimed solo albums put him on the map-He has been called 'The Jack Kerouac of Americana by the music press. His fans call him 'The Rock n Roll Poet' He's has released seven albums in the last Ten Years. All Award winners in the USA and EUROPE.
He has been featured at THE BLUEBIRD CAFÉ in Nashville several times & in 2017 did shows w/ legends Judy Collins & Don McLean-as well as shows w/ Dwight Yoakam,Lucinda Williams & Brian Setzer.He also hosts his own ‘Outlaws of folk music series’
