Total Lunar Eclipse Party

Tonight we have a rare opportunity to witness a total lunar eclipse perfectly timed for our evening enjoyment! The Earth's shadow first starts to cover the moon at 7:34 and totality arrives by 8:45. During totality the moon doesn't go dark, but turns beautiful shades of red or brown due to sunlight passing around the Earth and refracted by the Earth's atmosphere. A total lunar eclipse is a wonderful sight to behold with the eye alone, but telescopic views make it a special visual treat!
